It's so damn hot right now. For me, anyway. It's almost 8pm, about 85 degrees in my apartment, and I'm hating it.
(I don't like anything over 75 degrees, by the way).

My dreams are usually twisted bits and pieces from Alice in Wonderland...they generally don't make a lot of sense, but are sometimes quite fun!
But what I find odd in some of my other dreams - when I can remember them or parts of them - is that I am the opposite of who I am in real life.
In my dreams, I'm usually really fearful. I'm shy and I don't speak up much...it's as if I've reverted to my childhood, when I really was shy and quiet.
And I just take crap from everyone around me...not like me at all!
Another aspect of me in my dreams is that I'm sometimes slutty, and/or I just let anyone use and abuse me with very little effort of fighting back...which is very removed from how I am in real life!
Some say that dreams can be a reflection of who we secretly want to be. I can say emphatically that I do not want to be fearful and abused...not even for 'fun'; the whole master/submissive thing isn't for me.
So - what is up with those fucked up dreams?

I'm still not back to work...grrrrr!
But as I'm a person who likes to get things done, I've vacuumed and dusted the place. Now, I'll study for awhile. Hell - I may even be inspired to write something...if I can stop worrying about my lack of funds for an hour or two.

It's been about 4 years since I've eaten fast food or drank soda...well, I may drink a soda 1-3 times a year, and those are usually diet.
I eat chocolate in moderation. I've cut back on coffee, and most fried foods. I have alcohol once or twice a year, on average. From last year up to now, not one drop of liquor has touched my lips at all! (Which actually means that I haven't been partyin'...lol).
Now - I need to try to wean off of sugary juices and gummies...

* So - Big Momma has lost more weight, which is good, as she is able to move around better, and actually do some work. She is still kinda' slow and lazy. (And she still sneaks off to sit on her ass and/or sleep).
For example, she took it upon herself to stock the drinks on a daily basis. This job in itself can take some time...
It takes her half of a day, if you add up the time when she frequently stops and starts.
What is really irritating for me is when she leaves the cart in the middle of the floor, or even worse, behind a counter where it sometimes can't be seen. While I'm rushing about doing a myriad of stuff, I sometimes run into the goddamn thing. I end up with painful bruises on my upper legs. Pisses me off to no end!
On several occasions, we've all asked her not to leave shit in the way - for us and customers to bump into - but it just doesn't sink into her fat head.
So - on Wednesday, when I ran into the goddamn cart again, I just wheeled it to her cashier station. It was kinda' in the way for whoever had to pass by, but I figure - fuck it.
The look on Big Momma's face was priceless when she returned from wherever she went. What was even better was the fact that SHE ran into the cart.
* I get a call from the head boss on Friday (I'm off on Fridays). He proceeds to tell me that due to the district office not completing my paperwork for the next 184-day contract, I'm technically not employeed until they get the paperwork done...ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME? I ask Stan what's up...he swore that he got the paperwork in during summer school. He was told - per the school president herself, when he went to complain to her directly - that they'd get my paperwork through ASAP...whatever the fuck ASAP means. So, I'm not to come to work until he calls me to let me know when to do so. He said that if the school refuses to pay me for the 4 days I worked, he'd pay me out of his pocket.
Now - I know that I'll be leaving as soon as I complete my pharm tech stuff, ie get my state certification - but for now, I need to continue working at the college. Jobs are still very hard to come by here...

So - I've been waiting since Friday afternoon for the maintenance guy to come here to fix the leaking pipe in the kitchen. It's not gushing out water, but it's still dripping...into a bucket.
How many times do I have to call this ass?
I spoke to him again this evening (call #3); he said that he'd be here a little after 6pm. It's now 8pm.
I'm not waiting up for him. I will, however, call him again tomorrow, and bug the hell out of him.
I'd like to think that by me paying rent, I shouldn't have this problem for four days running!

So today was the first day back to work. It was actually quite uneventful, which was nice.
The ride home was a different matter though.
The bus driver had a serious lead foot, and sent passengers almost flying on several occasions - me included. It got to the point where he stepped on the breaks so hard that I blurted out "Leadfoot asshole", which caused people to laugh.
I got more unintended laughs when a pimp - decked out in an outrageous burgundy suit - got on the bus, and sat across from where I was standing. He offered me his seat, but I declined, stating that I preferred to stand. He actually tried his smooth pimp smack on me, which made me laugh. The more compliments and crap that poured from his mouth, the more faces I made at him, laughing. He kept touching my hand too -eew. I finally said "Dude - you must know that none of your smooth talk works on me, right? Plus - I'm too old for this shit. So you can stop touching me hand now." He - and others nearby - started cracking up.
Besides his ridiculous suit, he wore a matching hat...and shoes to match. The shoes were striped...
I asked to take a picture of his ridiculous shoes, and he said okay...dude thought that I was admiring his get-up. He even told me to take more pictures of him from head to toe. I should have, but I figured that the shoes were bad enough...I wouldn't have be able to keep a straight face while trying to photograph those jacked up teeth. The fact the he was also riding the bus told me that pimp-daddy must've been on hard times...

So, now I know what is wrong with my knees...yes, I said knees, even though only the left one has been painful.
After getting x-rays, it was determined that I am just starting to have arthritis...oh joy.
I was prescribed diclofenac, which I am to take twice a day. If, after a month, I feel no real relief, I may go on to a hydrocortisone shot - and you only can get up to three of those. I'm hoping that if I do get the shot, it will work on the first try, like it did for my right hand when I had DeQuervain's tendonitis about six years ago. (It's similar to carpo tunnel, but only affects the thumb and wrist).
Now...I need to find out what's up with my stomach. (I'm guessing a possible gluten allergy to celiac disease, or some kind of really fucked up GERD). Hopefully I'll find out exactly what it is...in November.

Holy shit...I'm sitting here on VR, reading friends' journals, giving Honor, etc, when all of a sudden I hear a woman shout "Get a rock!"
I look out of my living roon window to see 4 - 5 sketchy-looking black folks putting a beat down on a sketchy-looking Mexican guy. I don't know what he did to get the beating he got, but it was scary...especially when he tried to run and got hit by a car. The driver backed up, then took off, and the beating continued...WHAT THE FUCK???
Two of the attackers were women - all of them were kicking and punching this guy all over.
I dialed 911, trying to get help...the person who finally answered connected me to a recording in Vietnamese...? I'm sure my English was fine, so I have no clue what that cop was sniffin' when she transferred me...
Anyway, dozens of other people were just standing around, enjoying the violence, I guess.
One other black guy finally came over and pulled the Mexican guy away from the attackers, and they all disappeared...
When the shit ended, I got a dispatch person on the line...duh.
There are a lot of cans in the street. God - please don't tell me that the fight was over bottles and cans...

It's been getting warmer here - finally - like in the upper 80's. I hate heat, but we need to actually have a summer here - lol.
While running a few errands yesterday, I stopped to listen to a really cool band playing music downtown. They were called Dynamic, and they were good! A sign that was put up showcasing the Wednesday afternoon concerts stated that they were hip-hop; they were not. They were R&B/soul/reggae. I thought it was cool that the trumpet player was a skinny lil' white chick - lol. Hell, with the exception of the singer and the drummer, the other members of the band were all white...not that it matters. They sure had a lot of funk going on though - lol.
Besides studying - and worrying that my memory is beginning to suck on some items - I've been watching the Olympics and being a couch potato.
Did some laundry today - as soon as I returned home, I realized that I left two small white rugs for the kitchen...I rushed back to find them gone. Someone stole them in less than 3 minutes...damn!

Damn...I just realized that I missed out on the City of Fremont's street fair last weekend. Not only did I miss the food, music, and crafts, but I also missed Sunday's Firemen's Challenge, where stations from local towns compete in an obstacle course.
This is a favorite item of the fair, and women in particular jockey for a good spot early.
Not only are most of these guys super-hot - their friends cheering them on are gorgeous too, and many don't wear a lot of clothes...lol!
